Statement of Beliefs

 1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21

 2. We believe that there is only one true God, that he is the creator of heaven and earth and the redeemer of all mankind. He is a triune God and exists in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, all three being equal in every divine perfection and attribute. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22, 1 John 5:7, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

    • God the Father – the 1st person of the trinity who has existed before creation.  (Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 43:10 & 44:8; John 3:16)

    • God the Son – the 2nd person of the trinity who is co-existent and co-eternal with the father. The son was conceived by the Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary. He took on the form of man and became flesh. By becoming obedient to death, the Son bore the curse of sin, sickness and sorrow, and redeemed us back to God. He arose on the third day, ascended to heaven and now sits on the right hand of God, the Father.  (John 1:1-3, Matthew 1:23, 1 Timothy 2:5, Ephesians 2:18, Philippians 2:6-11)

    • God the Holy Spirit – the 3rd person of the trinity who is co-existent and equal to the Father. He was sent by the Father, through the Son. The Holy Spirit convicts mankind of sin and prepares the bride of Christ. (John 14:26; 15:26; 16:8)We believe in the fall of man. Man was created good and upright but because mankind was given a choice and made the choice to sin, man has now incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6; Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12-19; Isaiah 53:6)

 3. We believe in the salvation of man. Because of man's total inability to save himself, salvation is by God's grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through sincere, godly repentance, and whole-hearted acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Through being born again, we become new creatures in Jesus Christ. Old things have passed away and all things have become new. (Isaiah 53:5, John 3:3, 2 Corinthians  5:17, Gal. 2:20, 1 Peter 1:19-20, 2:24)

 4. We believe in water baptism by immersion in water.  We believe that water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is commanded by God. It is subsequent to conversion and not a saving ordinance, but an outward sign of an inward work (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:4, Acts 2:38).

 5. We believe in the commemoration of the Lord's Supper as a type of the broken body and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is an ordinance showing forth the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. We believe that all Christian believers, regardless of church affiliation, may partake of the Lord's Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:23-33, Luke 22:14-20)

 6. We believe the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a definite experience, not identical with conversion. When the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is received, unknown tongues will follow. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to endue the believer with power from on high; to give and to equip him for a practical, efficient, spirit-filled, soul-winning ministry and service. (John 14:16, Acts 1:8, 2:4,38-39, 19:6)

 7. We believe that divine healing was provided by the atonement of Christ Jesus' death. It is the power of God to heal the sick and afflicted in answer to believing prayer. We believe that God is willing to heal the sick today and does so. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:14-16, Acts 3:16)

 8. We believe that the Second Coming of Christ (rapture) is imminent and pre-millennial. The Lord will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then the redeemed which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall they ever be with the Lord. We should therefore be ready, for in such an hour as we think not, the Son of Man will return. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:12-13, Matthew 24:36, 44, Acts 1:11).

 9. We believe that the coming of Jesus Christ with His saints will end the great tribulation and establish the rnillennial kingdom on earth, when Christ shall rule and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. (Revelation 1:7, Zechariah 14:4, I Thessalonians 1:7-10, 2:8)

10. We believe that every believer should have a daily walk with God that includes time spent with God in his Word and in prayer. We believe that having been cleansed by the blood of Christ and quickened by the Spirit, it is God's Will that we should strive to be more like him, walking not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8: 1 & 5, 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 7: 1, I Peter 1: 1 5, 1 Thessalonians  5:22)

11. Knowing that marriage was instituted by God, sanctioned by the Lord Jesus Christ, and commended by Paul, we believe that a Christian man or woman should not marry an unsaved person. Having been united by God in holy matrimony, both are bound by Scripture and should follow it carefully.  However, each situation is weighed by Scripture.  (Malachi 2:10-16,  2 Corinthians 6:15; Matthew 19:5-9, Luke 16:18, Hebrews 13:4)

12. We believe that every born-again child of God should have a church family in which he is a part, should labor diligently, and should contribute his temporal means toward the spreading of the Gospel here on earth, We believe that tithes (ten percent of one's income) and offerings should be given into the storehouse of the Lord, which is the local church. (Nehemiah 13:10-14,  Hebrews 10:24-25,  Acts 2:47, 16:5, Romans 12:5, Malachi 3:8-12, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, 1 Corinthians 16:2, Matthew 23:23. )

13. We believe that there will be a Final Judgment and everyone will either go to Heaven or Hell. We believe in the final judgment of the wicked at the Great White Throne, when the dead, both small and great, shall be resurrected to stand before God to receive the reward of their deeds done in the flesh.  (Matthew 13:41-43, Revelation 20-.11-15). We believe hell is a literal place of outer darkness, bitter sorrow, remorse, and woe, prepared by God for the devil and his angels, and that there, into a lake that burns with fire and brimstone, shall be cast the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, sorcerers, idolaters, liars, and those who have rejected the love of Jesus Christ, whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life ( Revelation  14:10-20:10,  21:7-8; Matthew 25:41,  Mark 9:43-44). We believe that heaven is the habitation of the Living God, where Christ has gone to prepare a place for all His children, and where they shall dwell eternally in happiness and security with Him. (1 Corinthians 2:9, John 14:2, Revelation 7:15-17, 21:4, 22:5)

.

14. We believe that the coming of Jesus Christ is eminent and as His redeemed children, we should put forth our utmost efforts to spread the Gospel to every 'kindred, tribe, and tongue." (2 Timothy 4:1-2, Ephesians 5:14-16, Proverbs 11:30, Ezekiel 3:17-18, John 4:35-37).

15. We believe that the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ to the entire world is literal, imperative, and binding today. It is the supreme privilege and duty of the church to stress the cause of worldwide missions. The very life and strength of the home church depends on its whole-hearted sacrifice for, and support of, a world missionary program.  (Matthew 9:38, Mark 16:15, Romans 10:13-15, James 5:20, Psalm 2:8)

16. We believe that one of the largest ministries of the church is to take care of the poor including those families who are poor and those who are widows or orphans. (Hebrews 13:2, John 3:17, Galatians 6:10, James 1:27).

17. We believe in the five-fold ministry gifts: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. God speaks to His body through these 'gifts" to the church. God did not ordain or establish committees, but individuals, filling one of these five-fold ministry gifts. (Ephesians 4:1 1)
